Miller and Reemtsma named CCAC Athletes of the Week

CHICAGO --- Recording some of the best marks in the NAIA this spring, St. Ambrose University's Annah Miller (Manito, Ill.) and Will Reemtsma (Davenport, Iowa) have been named as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Outdoor Field Athlete and Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, respectively, for the seven-day period ending April 7, the league office announced Thursday.

Miller registered a pair of "A" standard efforts in her two events, the shot put and discus. Her discus distance of 158 feet, 11 inches not only currently ranks second in the nation, but also established a new Fighting Bee mark. It also gained her a second-place finish at the Augustana University Viking Olympics on Saturday.

Miller captured the shot put event, as well, at the same meet with the ninth-best effort in the NAIA this spring, 46 feet, 0.75 inches.

Reemtsma, meanwhile, topped the list of finishers in each of the three events in which he competed in at the Viking Olympics highlighted by his top-ranking NAIA time of 50.22 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles.

The graduate student also registered a "B" standard mark of 14.74 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and combined with three other Bee runners to win the mixed 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:41.35.
