SAU wins for 11th time by taking down Saints

St. Ambrose surpassed its win total from a year ago, winning for the 11th time this year by defeating St. Francis 5-2 at Davenport West Wednesday afternoon.

The Bees swept the three doubles matches and earned four singles victories to move to 11-6 overall and 1-1 in CCAC play.

Brian Lelm and Gabriel Guimaray cruised to a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles. The No. 2 team of Gianfranco Garcia Medina and Jaime Febres were extended to a tiebreaker in their 7-6 (7-4) victory. Connor Leibforth and Marcus Lang won by forfeit.

Febres didn't drop a game in his 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Garcia Medina won in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3. Leibforth and Lang each won by forfeit. Guimaray dropped a third-set super-tiebreaker at No. 2 singles.

SAU will travel to Judson Saturday.
