Top of lineup carries St. Ambrose past Wisconsin Lutheran

St. Ambrose got wins from its top four singles players in a 5-2 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran Friday afternoon at Davenport West. All four victories came in straight sets.

Brian Lelm cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and Benedikt Rake dropped just two games in his 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Jaime Febres picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 and Nathan Harris earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4. Connor Leibforth and Cade Timmons fell at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

Those wins followed the Bees claiming the doubles point. Lelm and Rake teamed for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, and the No. 2 team of Febres and Harris won 6-3.

SAU, now 4-2 overall, will close the fall portion of its season Saturday against Buena Vista at 10 a.m. at Davenport West.
