Bees back to .500 with 9-0 sweep of Fighting Scots

St. Ambrose evened its record at 7-7 following a 9-0 win at Monmouth (Ill.) Thursday afternoon.

The Bees dropped just six games over the five contested singles matches. Gianfranco Garcia and Bennet Piotrowski led the way, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and 4 singles, respectively.

Paulo Vitor lost just two games in his 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1. Gabriel Guimaray also lost a pair of games in his 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Connor Leibforth won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5. Greyson Piotrowski won by forfeit at No. 6.

SAU was equally as dominant in doubles play. Garcia and Guimaray won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and Bennet and Greyson Piotrowski cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 2. The No. 3 team of Leibforth and Marcus Lang won by forfeit.

St. Ambrose is scheduled to return to CCAC play Saturday with a dual at Holy Cross.
