2023 Academic All-America Women's Swimming & Diving Team | 2023 Academic All-America Men's Swimming & Diving Team

Leyre Antonanzas, Mikhi Hassim and Petter Kolaas were recognized for their efforts in the pool and in the classroom as they were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Swimming & Diving Team.

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and academically. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.

Antonanzas, a sophomore from Pamplona, Spain, is a four-time All-American at St. Ambrose. She became the program's first female swimming All-American when she placed eighth in both the 200-yard and 400-yard individual medley events at the 2022 NAIA Championships. She repeated both honors this year, taking sixth in the 400 IM and eighth in the 200 IM. Along with holding school records in both the 200 and 400 IM, Antonanzas holds the SAU record in the 200-yard backstroke. She is majoring in Psychology.

Hassim, a sophomore from Johannesburg, South Africa, was an All-American in 2022, placing seventh in the 100-yard butterfly. He received All-America honorable mention this year as part of three relays - 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay. Hassim holds Bee records in the 100-yard backstroke, 50- and 100-yard butterfly, and the 100- and 200-yard IM. He is majoring in Exercise Science.

Kolaas, a senior from Bergen, Norway, joined Hassim as part of the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relay teams that earned All-America honorable mention this year. Kolaas has helped set three school records, those coming in the 200-yard freestyle relay and in the 200-yard and 400-yard medley relays. The NAIA Scholar-Athlete is majoring in History and Political Science.

The three Bees earned CSC Academic All-District honors earlier this year.
