Competing for the first time in 2022, St. Ambrose dropped a home dual to Iowa Central Saturday at Davenport Central. The women lost 132-113 and the men fell 139-125.

Leyre Antonanzas led the Bee women by winning a pair of individual events. She won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:24.11 and took the 200-yard backstroke in 2:11.67. Caitlin Pieroni finished third in the 200 back.

Lauren Williams, who placed second behind Antonanzas in the 500 free, won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:00.98. Amber Warak was fourth. Bethany Anderson won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.78 and Rylie Steinkamp took third. Six-time NAIA national champion Andrea Adam won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 245.50.

Audra Shoop was the runner-up in a pair of individual events. She was second in the 100-yard freestyle in 59.68 seconds. Marin Powell was third and Madeline Piper took fifth. Shoop was also second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:17.20. Victoria Thorne and Sarah Priewe were third and fourth, respectively.

Along with her two championship finishes, Antonanzas placed second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.05, with Anderson placing third and Pieroni taking fifth. Steinkamp's time of 26.41 seconds was good for second in the 50-yard freestyle. Powell was third and Warak fifth. Pieroni (third) and Thorne (fifth) also placed inside the top five in the 200-yard individual medley.

Anderson, Steinkamp, Williams and Shoop teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:45.75. Warak, Sydney Branson, Piper and Priewe were third. Antonanzas, Shoop, Anderson and Williams were second in the 400-yard medley relay, with Pieroni, Thorne, Steinkamp and Piper taking third.

For the men, Victor Del Rio Foces won two individual events - the 100-yard backstroke in 55.91 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 52.60 seconds. Three other Bees ended in the top five in the 100 back - Quincy Walker was second, Caleb Heiar third and Mikhi Hassim fifth. Hassim was third in the 100 fly and Heiar placed fifth.

Rais Hassim led a Fighting Bee charge in the 100-yard breaststroke. Rais Hassim won the event in 1:01.13. Jaden Dydell and Petter Kolaas tied for second and Carmelo Patti II was fifth. 

Brett Jones won the 100-yard freestyle in 47.63 seconds. Rais Hassim was third and Keagan Dolphin took fourth. Ryan Joehl touched the wall first in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:59.48 and Walker was fourth. Bram Mess won the men's 1-meter diving event with a score of 208.85.

Joehl was the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.28. Grant Nelson was third in the event and added a second-place effort in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:04.66. Truitt Landolt was third in the 500 free. Devon Gaber, Reece Powell and Dolphin went third, fourth, fifth in the 50-yard freestyle. Gabe Carlson was third in the 200-yard individual medley and Carson Maxwell was fourth in the 200-yard butterfly.

Foces, Rais Hassim, Heiar and Jones won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:27.00. Dydell, Gaber, Kolaas and Powell were third. Joehl, Carlson, Foces and Heiar were runners-up in the 400-yard medley relay, and Mikhi Hassim, Dydell, Rais Hassim and Jones took third.

The Bees will host Augustana next Friday at 6 p.m.
