Fitzpatrick scores in loss to Cardinal Stritch

St. Ambrose traveled to Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon to face conference foe Cardinal Stritch. The Wolves scored three goals in seven minutes on the way to a 4-1 victory over the Bees. SAU drops to 4-8-2 overall, and 3-5-2 in the CCAC while CSU is now 9-5 overall and 7-2 in conference.

The home team took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute on a score from Edvin Grolimund. The Bees had a chance to tie it up soon after, but Joseph Gaither Jr.'s attempt was saved by the Cardinal Stritch keeper. The Wolves would make it 2-0 in the 27th minute and would add to their leadmminutes later. Edvin Grolimund found the back of the net again for CSU to give them a 3-0 lead at the 27:49 mark. Cardinal Stritch would add one more for a 4-0 halftime lead.

St. Ambrose's first chance in the second half came in the 63rd minute, but Keaton Johnson's shot attempt was saved. The Bees were able to get on the scoreboard late in the game, as Gaither Jr. found Trent Fitzpatrick in the 86th minute to account for the 4-1 final.

Zach Bauer made two saves in the first half, and Kai Domagala was credited with a save in the second half. Justin Tackett and Jorn Reck accounted for the two other St. Ambrose shot attempts.

Next up for the Bees is Trinity International on Saturday, October 22nd at 2:30 p.m. in Deerfield, Ill.
