Gaither Jr., Pyle honored against Eagles

St. Ambrose honored two Seniors on Saturday - Joseph Gaither Jr. and Spencer Pyle. The two were recognized for their contributions to the SAU program at halftime against Judson. The Bees fell to the Eagles 2-0 at the St. Vincent's Athletic Complex in Davenport.

The SAU (4-6-2, 3-3-2 CCAC) offense struggled as they were outshot 24-2 in the match. Zach Bauer made six saves in the first half before the Eagles (4-4-4, 4-1-3 CCAC) found the back of the net. Gabriel Trevisan put Judson up 1-0 in the 40th minute. Trent Fitzpatrick forced a save just before the halftime whistle to record St. Ambrose's only shot of the first half.

Bauer kept the Bees in the match, recording saves in the 54th and 58th minutes for the deficit to remain at one. The Eagles had a chance to add to their lead in the 65th minute, but Justin Tackett cleared the ball off the line. Judson's Gabriel Trevisan would find the back of the net again in the 72nd minute for the 2-0 final.

Bauer finished with a season-high 11 saves for St. Ambrose. Fitzpatrick had the two shots for SAU.
