Trinity International tops St. Ambrose in home finale

St. Ambrose faced Trinity International on Saturday night in Davenport in their home finale. The Trojans spoiled Senior Night for the Bees, scoring three second-half goals to get a 3-0 victory at the St. Vincent's Athletic Complex.

SAU had the early chances in the game. Rory Hannon had a shot attempt blocked in the first minute and then had a shot saved in the 4th minute. Justin Tackett put a shot high just a couple of minutes later. The Trinity International keeper was called into action again in the 20th minute when Hannon put another opportunity on net. Piercarlo Ricossa made a stop in the 27th minute to keep the game even. The teams would head into the break tied at zero. 

11 seniors were honored at halftime for their contributions to the men's soccer program - Jose Anchundia, Miguel BaymaBlake Biery, Donovan Day, Hannon, Nathan LukasikJacob MulvihillMitchell Petrosky, Ricossa, Ricky Rueda, and Noah Secor.

The Bees again got the early chances to start the second half, but Joseph Gaither's shot went high and Tackett's went wide. The Trojans almost got on the scoreboard in the 54th minute, but Adam Przytula's attempt hit the crossbar. The visitors would strike in the 63rd minute to take a one-goal lead. Bayma made a save the next minute to keep the deficit at one. Keaton Johnson fired a shot in the 67th minute, but his attempt was turned away. Trinity International would double their lead in the 76th minute and add one more in the 84th to account for the final score. 

Ricossa and Bayma were credited with one save in goal. Hannon totaled five shots, Tackett three, and Biery and Secor each had two.   

SAU will wrap up the season on Wednesday, October 27th at Governors State University at 2 p.m.
