SAU shuts out IU-Northwest

Kai Domagala and Miguel Bayma combined for a shutout, and the Bees matched their highest offensive output of the season, defeating Indiana University - Northwest, 4-0, Wednesday night in Davenport. 

St. Ambrose had plenty of chances in the first half, registering 18 shots in the period. But it was Blake Biery who broke through in the 35th minute to give SAU a 1-0 lead at halftime. 

The Bees came out strong in the second half, with Rory Hannon scoring two goals in the first three minutes of the period. His first goal was a header off a free kick from Justin Tackett in the 46th minute. Hannon notched his next goal from outside the box, placing the shot over the IU-Northwest keeper's head in the 48th minute. The final goal of the night came in the 55th minute. After Spencer Pyle had his shot saved, Tackett was able to get the rebound and find the back of the net. 

St. Ambrose had 12 different players record shots in the game and 34 total shots in the match. Pyle led the way with five, Hannon and Tackett had four, and Jacob MulvihillDavid Morsey, and Biery had three. Domagala made two saves in 57 minutes of action, and Bayma had three in 33 minutes. Keaton JohnsonDavid Kramer, Mulvihill, Noah SecorTobi Bierle, and Aidan Bagley helped in the shutout effort, limiting the RedHawks to just six total shots. 

SAU will head to Judson University on Saturday for another CCAC contest at 2:30 p.m.
