Lakers best Bees in CCAC matchup

St. Ambrose traveled to Arlington Heights, Ill. Tuesday evening to take on Roosevelt University. The Lakers (2-2-1, 2-1 CCAC) scored a goal in each half and used a man advantage for two-thirds of the game to take down the Bees (3-3-1, 0-3 CCAC) 2-0 at Morris Field. 

Rory Hannon had the first two opportunities for SAU, but his shots in the 3rd and 5th minutes were saved by RU's keeper. Attempts from the Lakers in the 25th and 27th minutes were turned away by Piercarlo Ricossa to keep the game tied at zero. In the 30th minute, St. Ambrose was shown a red card, and Roosevelt took advantage three minutes later. Nicolas Gerardo would get the home team on the board for the 1-0 lead. Joseph Gaither had a chance for the tying goal late in the half, but his shot was blocked as the Bees would head into halftime down a goal. 

Roosevelt would add to their lead early on in the second half, as Eduardo Hernandez was able to get the ball past Kai Domagala in the 57th minute to go up 2-0. St. Ambrose would only get off three shot attempts in the second half. Hannon's shot went wide in the 61st minute, and David Kramer had an attempt go high in the 88th minute and a header saved in the 90th. 

Ricossa was credited with four saves, while Domagala had two. Justin TackettRicky Rueda, and Mitchell Petrosky each registered one shot attempt. 

SAU will look to get their first conference win on Saturday, facing off against Calumet St. Joseph in Davenport at 2:30 p.m.
