Pyle, Reinoso score in loss to Olivet Nazarene

St. Ambrose traveled to Bourbonnais, Ill. Saturday afternoon to take on the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene. The Bees scored two second-half goals, but it wasn't enough as SAU was defeated 5-2.

Piercarlo Ricossa made a save just two minutes into the game to kept the home team off the board. Juan Diego and Daniel Reinoso had chances in the 4th and 5th minutes to get on the scoresheet, but both attempts were saved. ONU got the breakthough in the 23rd minute from James Lynch. Rory Hannon had a chance to tie the game up in the 33rd minute, but his header went wide. The Tigers doubled their lead in the 41st minute and would take the 2-0 lead into halftime.

Ricossa made a save in the in the 59th minute and Miguel Bayma made a save in the 63rd minute to keep the deficit at two. The Tigers would find their third goal of the day in the 63rd minute from Michael Pfaff. SAU would find the scoreboard in the 71st minute from Spencer Pyle. ONU would answer right back scoring less than a minute after Pyle's goal for a 4-1 lead. Reinoso would score in the 79th minute from a free kick. Olivet Nazarene would tally one more goal to account for the 5-2 final score.

Ricossa made five saves in the loss, and Bayma made one in the net. The teams were even on corner kicks with four each.

The Bees will travel to University of St. Francis (Ill.) on Wednesday, April 7th for their next contest. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
