Bees fall in overtime to Wolves

Spencer Pyle scored with 30 seconds left, but it wasn't enough as the St. Ambrose men's soccer team fell 2-1 in overtime against Cardinal Stritch University on Saturday afternoon in Davenport, Iowa.

Piercarlo Ricossa stopped two shots from the Wolves in the first 15 minutes, but the visitors would find the back of the net in the 22nd minute. The Bees would only get off two shots in the first half, with one going high and the other getting blocked.

With SAU down 1-0, Brandon Moreno kept the Bees in the game with a save in the 86th minute. Blake Biery then found Pyle in the 90th minute for the tying goal. The Wolves would find the game-winner in the 93rd minute from Salvador Nunez.

St. Ambrose could only garner two shots on goal as they were outshot 13-7 on the day. Ricossa was credited with three saves, while Moreno had one.

The Bees will travel to Trinity Christian on Wednesday, March 10 for another CCAC match. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
