Bees fall in OT to Trinity International

St. Ambrose fell in overtime, 2-1, against Trinity International on Saturday afternoon in Davenport, Iowa.

The Bees found themselves down early as the Trojans got on the board in the 7th minute. SAU would then find themselves down a man as a red card was given in the 27th minute. The first half was chippy with 25 total fouls called between the two teams and five cards given. Ricky Rueda had a chance to tie the game in the 37th minute, but the attempt was saved. St. Ambrose would go into halftime down 1-0.

The second half would start similar to the first with seven fouls called in the first 10 minutes. The Bees would get on the scoresheet in the 60th minute after Daniel Reinoso found Rueda for a goal to tie the game at 1-1.

SAU had chances to find a winner, but attempts from Spencer Pyle and Rory Hannon were saved by the Trojan keeper. Piercarlo Ricossa stopped a shot from Trinity International in the 85th minute, forcing the game into overtime. TIU would score in the 98th minute to win 2-1.

Ricossa was credited with four saves in the loss.

St. Ambrose will face St. Xavier (Ill.) next. Game time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m at the TBK Sports Complex.
