Rueda's goal lifts Bees to win

St. Ambrose won their season opener, 2-1 on Saturday afternoon against the University of Northwestern - St. Paul in Roseville, Minn.

The Fighting Bees got on the scoreboard first with freshman Justin Tackett finding the back of the net in the 23rd minute. Eleven minutes later, the Eagles were able to tie up the game. Northwestern had a chance to take the lead just before the half, but they missed a penalty kick.

Ricky Rueda broke the tie in the 72nd minute off an assist from Daniel Reinoso. The SAU defense held strong after the goal and were able to close out the win.

Miguel Bayma and Piercarlo Ricossa split time in goal with Bayma making three saves and Ricossa having two.
