Heart of America Release

Jon Paul was named the Co-Coach of the Year, and Devin Caesar earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors by the Heart of America Conference.

Paul has earned conference Coach of the Year honors in back-to-back years as he was the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Coach of the Year in 2022. The second-year coach had four players earn all-conference honors - Nolan Hayes was the Co-Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team selection; Cole Danner, Michael Keating, and Michael Shakerin earned second-team honors.

The Fighting Bees went 8-6 overall and faced top competition in the NAIA. SAU faced the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 2 ranked teams to start the season. St. Ambrose has a top-five win, defeating then No. 4 Aquinas on March 5. They went 3-2 in Heart play, earning the two-seed in the conference tournament and garnering a trip to the conference title game. They defeated William Penn in the championship to claim their first conference tournament title in program history. With the 2023 Heart Tournament title, St. Ambrose has made back-to-back-to-back appearances in the NAIA Invitational.

Caesar, a former Fighting Bee, was named the Assistant Coach of the Year in the Heart after his first season on the sidelines with SAU. Caesar has been instrumental in recruiting efforts for St. Ambrose and also works closely with the defensive unit for the men's lacrosse team.
