Heart of America Conference Tournament Preview - Men's Lacrosse

St. Ambrose, the No. 2 seed in the Heart, will host third-seeded Mount Vernon Nazarene on Wednesday, April 26th at 7 p.m. at the St. Vincent Athletic Complex in Davenport, Iowa in a conference semifinal. 

Admission to the game will be $5 for adults and $2 for students. Payment via venmo will be available. 

The Bees went 3-2 in conference play for a three-way tie but gained the second-seed via tiebreaker. Mount Vernon Nazarene also went 3-2 in Heart play. The two teams met back on March 4th in Mount Vernon, Ohio with MVN taking a 10-5 victory. 

SAU has a balanced attack, with six players garnering more than 20 points in the season. Michael Keating (35 points), Cole Danner (32 points), Michael Shakerin (31 points), Makaile Shaddix (24 points), Tyler Yetka (23 points), and Isaiah Hahn (23 points) lead the way. Defensively, Adam Kraft has caused 17 turnovers on the year to lead the Bees. Dawson Dickerson and Lachlan Hodge have nine, Joe Campbell has caused seven, and Hahn, Chris Bridich, and Trent Knight have caused six. Jack Wiltrout has won 128 faceoffs and collected 73 ground balls. Nolan Hayes has made 155 saves. 

Mount Vernon Nazarene is led by Brett Townsend (72 points) and Tyler Dickerson (53 points). Joshua Hageman has made 128 saves for the Cougars. 

The other semifinal will be No. 1 William Penn against No. 4 Benedictine. William Penn went a perfect 5-0 in the Heart to win the regular season and earn the one seed. WPU defeated BC, 16-7, in the regular season matchup. 

The championship game will be on Saturday, April 29th with the highest remaining seed hosting.
