Stoetzel ties for 11th at WIU Intercollegiate
Jacob Stoetzel finished tied for 11th at the Western Illinois University Intercollegiate played at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., Friday and Saturday.
In a field consisting of primarily NCAA Division I teams, Stoetzel stayed near the top of the leaderboard all weekend. He had rounds of 76 and 73 on Friday before coming back Saturday with a 1-over 72. His 221 placed him in a four-way tie for 11th.
Dylan McAleer and Tim Marcum also each shot three rounds in the 70s. McAleer shot 75-77-78 for a 230 to tie for 30th overall. Marcum improved each round, with his 79-78-77 giving him a 234 total.
Owen Hultman (78-78-81=237) and Jacob Rude (85-76-78=239) also competed for the Bees. Playing as an individual, Jacob Lange matched Hultman with a 237 (85-76-76).
St. Ambrose finished eighth with a 917 (308-304-305).
SAU will compete in the Duhawk Spring Invitational at The Meadows Golf Course in Asbury, Iowa, Apr. 14-15.
