Fall season ends with NAIA Championship Preview

St. Ambrose closed the fall portion of its schedule by traveling to Arizona to compete in the Redhawk Rumble Monday and Tuesday.

The two-day event was played at Las Sendas Golf Club in Mesa, the host course of the 2023 NAIA Men's Golf Championships.

Facing some of the top teams in the country, St. Ambrose finished 11th overall.

Owen Hultman was the low scorer for the Bees. He shot a 1-over 72 Tuesday to finish in a tie for 32nd with a 153.

Jared Tigges opened with a 74 before settling for a 155 final. Mark Schomer had the only other Bee round in the 70s, closing with a 79 to finish with a 159.

Hunter Mettille (164) and Dylan McAleer (168) also competed for St. Ambrose.

The Master's University won the tournament, shooting a 3-over 571. Trevor Lewis, of Embry-Riddle (Ariz.), ran away from the field for medalist honors. He shot a 13-under 129 to win by 10 strokes. He was one of just three players to finish under par for the tournament.

The Bees will start up the spring season with a return to Arizona for their annual Spring Break trip.
