Hultman ties for 11th at Clarke Fall Classic
Owen Hultman shot consecutive 78s to finish in a tie for 11th place at the Clarke Fall Classic played at Eagle Ridge in Galena, Ill., Friday and Saturday. He shot a 12-over 156.
Mick Haverland had the Bees' best round of the event, firing an opening-round 77. He slid back with an 86 Saturday to end in a tie for 22nd place with a 163.
Hunter Mettille rebounded from an 85 Friday to card a second-round 78. That also left him with a 163 to match Haverland.
Eric Spurgetis had back-to-back 83s to finish with a 166 and Dylan McAleer ended with a 170 (78-92).
St. Ambrose took fourth in the 13-team tournament. The Bees finished with a 641 (316-325).
Playing as an individual, McGwire Eden tied for 15th with a 159 (78-81).
Tom Bell, from Hawkeye Community College, was the individual medalist after carding a 4-over 148. Mount Mercy won the team title with a 603.
