SAU ties for runner-up at Clarke Fall Invite

Four finishes inside the top 10 helped St. Ambrose tie for the runner-up position at the Clarke Fall Inivitational, played at the Eagle Ridge-South Course in Galena, Ill.

Eric Spurgetis and Dylan McAleer both landed in the top five at the one-day event, with Spurgetis finishing in fourth on a four-over 76 and McAleer a stoke behind in fifth (77).

Ethan Neumer and Hunter Mettille both fired off a 79 to land in a four-way tie for seventh to round out the scoring for the Bees.

Reid Calvert carded an 80 to tie for 11th, with the trio of Luke SiebersMark Schomer and Owen Hultman a stroke back at 81 in a tie for 14th. Mick Haverland tied for 18th with an 82-shot performance.

Gabe FerlmannJared TiggesMcGwire Eden and T.J. McDonnell all finished with an 83 to end in a seven-way tie for 23rd.

Josh Vanderploeg shot an 85 and Jacob Dietrich finished an 88. Drew Eden and Evan Baxter both carded an 88, while Nathan Unes and Justin Endthoff finished with a 94 and 95, respectively.

The Bees tied for second with Coe College at 322 strokes. They finished four shots ahead of the host Clarke in fourth place.

Dubuque won the six-team event with a collective 23-over 311. Dubuque's Alex Staver shot a two-over 74 to finish as the top individual.
