Hot-shooting IUSB defeats SAU 91-71

Twelve 3-pointers weren't enough to overcome a nearly 60-percent shooting performance from the opposition as St. Ambrose fell at Indiana South Bend 91-71 Saturday afternoon.

The Bees outscored the Titans 36-15 from beyond the arc but SAU shot just 37 percent overall from the floor while IUSB hit 35-of-59 attempts (59.3 percent).

IU South Bend (18-6, 13-3 CCAC) shot better than 58 percent in building a 45-33 halftime lead. The Titans didn't give the Bees a chance to rally by shooting at a 60-percent clip in the second half.

Collin Wainscott hit four of the Bees' 12 threes in scoring a team-high 20 points. Grant Mason was the only other Bee to score in double figures. He scored 13.

Atem Agot and Ignacio Dacunda each scored nine points. Guillermo Narbona finished with seven points. Ryan Kenney had five points, Elgin Bowen Jr. and Max Steiner each scored three, and Will Spriggs added two.

St. Ambrose (12-12, 9-7 CCAC) will host Roosevelt Tuesday.
