Morrissey earns all-CCAC honorable mention

All-CCAC Men's Basketball Team

Andrew Morrissey earned all-conference honorable mention as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) announced its postseason men's basketball awards.

In his only year with the Bees, Morrissey averaged 13.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. He appeared in 24 of the team's 25 games and made 22 starts. Morrissey scored a season-best 29 points, on 11-of-15 shooting, at Trinity Christian on Jan. 21.

But the 6-9 center from Winnebago, Ill., made his biggest mark on the boards. His rebounding average is the second-best mark in the conference. He grabbed double-digit rebounds in 11 games and posted nine double-doubles.

Morrissey upped his play down the stretch, averaging 16.9 points and 11.2 boards over SAU's final 11 games. He pulled down 10-or-more rebounds in seven of the final 11 games, including a season-best 17 vs. Saint Xavier on Feb. 1.

St. Ambrose also received the league's Champion of Character Team Award.
