Ward, Namio named MSFA Players of the Week

Yemi Ward and Joe Namio were named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League Players of the Week. Ward won the offensive honor and Namio was named the special teams player of the week.

Ward hauled in 11 receptions for 199 yards and three touchdowns in St. Ambrose's 41-21 win over Judson Saturday. With the three scores, the fifth-year senior from Chicago, Ill., became the school's all-time leader in career touchdown receptions. His 37 touchdown catches surpassed Brad Connor's previous record of 34. Ward has 14 touchdown receptions this season.

Namio was perfect in Saturday's win, converting all five extra points and booting field goals of 42 and 39 yards. The junior from Freeport, Ill., also registered a pair of touchbacks on kickoffs. Namio has kicked four field goals and been successful on 17 of his 18 PATs this season.
