SAU posts 41-21 win over Judson on Senior Day

St. Ambrose could not have asked for a more balanced attack. The Bees passed for 275 yards and rushed for another 274 yards in a 41-21 Senior Day victory over Judson at Jack and Pat Bush Stadium in Davenport, Iowa, Saturday.

Joey Sprinkle tossed five touchdown passes, three to Yemi Ward on a record-breaking afternoon. Ward became the school's all-time leader in career touchdown receptions with 37, breaking a tie with Brad Connor he held entering the game. His 14 touchdown receptions this season are the second-most in school history, trailing the 16 Zach Grant hauled in during the 2012 campaign.

The record came as part of an 11-catch, 199-yard effort from Ward. He had a two-yard scoring reception to open the scoring on the game's first possession. He outran everyone on a 62-yarder midway through the second quarter before adding a 36-yarder in the opening minutes of the third quarter.

Devan Galant caught two passes for 38 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown pass that broke a 7-7 tie early in the second quarter.

Michael Bos had two receptions for 31 yards and Mikey Hellwig caught a seven-yard touchdown pass.

Joe Namio booted a 42-yard field goal in the final minute of the first half that gave the Bees a 24-14 halftime lead. Early in the fourth, his 39-yard field goal opened up a 41-14 lead before Judson (0-8, 0-4 MSFA) scored a touchdown late in the game to end the scoring.

Tom Casey had a nine-yard completion in relief of Sprinkle in the second half.

SAU racked up 549 yards of total offense and 26 first downs.

Joe Reinhart led the defense with nine total tackles. Jeremiah Crawford had six tackles while Max Gourley, Hunter Kelley and Colin Gudella each posted five. Anthony Brown was credited with a pair of sacks while Djabril McNabb had another. Jarian Dunlap Jr. had an interception in the win.
