SAU Esports hosts national-level Esports Tournament

St. Ambrose Esports hosts high level, competitive tournaments during its fifth Honeypot event on April 28-29, 2023, at the Putnam Museum and Science Center, 1717 W. 12th St. in Davenport, Iowa. Friday is the pre-tournament and Saturday from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. is the main tournament.

More than 400 players are expected to compete in the family-friendly tournament series for all ages, bringing in an even larger viewership on steaming services. Honeypot is a fighting game tournament that includes games such as Smash Ultimate, Melee, and Tekken 7. Honeypot is an event that has quickly grown from a regional to a national-level event featuring participants and competitors from more than 15 states.

In addition to game play, Honeypot offers participants the opportunity to interact and engage with vendors selling products or experiences, and admission to The Putnam's exhibits.

Lead event organizer Albert Rassavong said, "I want to use this event to promote what the Quad Cities has to offer and I'm excited to organize an event that brings this many people here. Our goal is to provide a platform for not only the players to show off their skills, but also the community. We hope everyone can come together and celebrate the games we love."
