SAU Dance Team wins another Regional Championship

The SAU Dance Team continued its dominant season by winning the 10-team NAIA Northeast Regional in Grand Rapids, Mich., Friday. 

St. Ambrose, which has won all seven of its competitions this season, posted an overall score of 96.27 to earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Competitive Dance Championships later this month.

The highest-scoring team in the country set the tone early, earning a preliminary-round score of 96.97. SAU backed that up with a score of 96.03 in the final round. The Bees' 96.27 was nearly four points better than second-place Aquinas (92.47). St. Francis was third overall, Siena Heights placed fourth and Madonna was fifth.

Competing for St. Ambrose were Maddy Barnes, Lexi Crook, Annika Foit, Cassidy Gerdts, Sara Gundacker, Josie Kaffenberger, Rosie Manikham, Sydnie Offermann, Alexandra Olson, Ellie Schilling, Emma Schoonover, Grace Sheldon and Leah Zeimet.

The eighth annual NAIA Competitive Dance Championships will be Mar. 29-30 in Ypsilanti, Mich. SAU, a three-time National Champion, will be looking to win back-to-back National Titles.
