The St. Ambrose Dance Team was named Grand Champion at the Thresher Invitational Friday and Saturday. SAU won all three rounds of competition.

SAU's best score came in the final round. St. Ambrose earned a score of 95.30, the only score in the 90s over the three rounds. Oklahoma City was second with an 89.57 and St. Francis was third at 88.80.

Those three teams finished in the same order in the second competition. St. Ambrose posted a score of 89.77 while Oklahoma City had an 85.93 and St. Francis a 77.73.

In Friday's first Thresher Invitational, St. Ambrose won with an 88.80. St. Francis (74.13) and Kansas Wesleyan (68.13) were second and third, respectively.

The Grand Champion was awarded based on the team's top score of the weekend, with the Bees' 95.30 easily outdistancing the field. The SAU White Squad placed fourth in the standings with a 78.4.

SAU will next compete in the Saints Showdown next Sunday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
