SAU Dance wins two rounds at Thresher Invitational

The SAU Dance Team won two of the three rounds at the Thresher Invitational hosted by Bethel in North Newton, Kan., over the weekend.

St. Ambrose scored an 85.20 to easily win the first round Friday, which consisted of seven total teams. Second-place Kansas Wesleyan was second with a score of 78.30. In the second event of the day Saturday, the third round overall, SAU won the nine-team competition with a score of 90.43. That proved to be the second-highest score of the entire weekend. Oklahoma City was runner-up with a score of 89.87.

The Bees weren't able to sweep the three rounds, settling for third place in Round 2. Oklahoma City earned the win with a 91.03 score. Baker took second and St. Ambrose came in third with a score of 85.03.

Oklahoma City was crowned Grand Champion by having the highest score among Saturday's two rounds.

Competing for St. Ambrose were Maddy Barnes, Lexi Crook, Sydnie Gerner-Offermann, Karlee Grenier, Sara Gundacker, Kylee Harper, Ally Olson, Morgan Pfohl, Ellie Schilling, Emma Schoonover, Lynleigh Schram, Grace Sheldon and Leah Zeimet.

SAU will next compete in the Baker Invitational Feb. 10-11.
