Official Program

In a dominating season, the St. Ambrose Dance Team left little doubt about the top team in the nation.

St. Ambrose finished with an overall score of 88.72 to easily outdistance the field in winning the 2021 NAIA Competitive Dance National Championship in Lee Lohman Arena Saturday. It marked SAU's second national title since the NAIA began offering a championship in 2017.

After winning all three regular-season competitions and taking first in the NAIA's Northeast Regional qualifier, St. Ambrose took control of the national event during Friday's preliminary rounds. SAU scored an 89.17, more than six points better than second-place Oklahoma City. SAU backed that up with a final-round 88.57 Saturday.

SAU's overall total of 88.72 was the third-highest total in the four-year history of the championships.

Oklahoma City finished second with an 84.55 and Morningside took third with an 80.16.

For the third straight year, St. Ambrose was selected to host the NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance National Championships. The 2020 Championships were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

St. Ambrose also won a national dance title in 2018.
