SAU Cheer has seven named NAIA All-Americans
St. Ambrose, winners of the 2023 NAIA Competitive Cheer Championship, had seven individuals named NAIA All-Americans. The Bees placed one on the first team, five on the second team, and had one honorable mention.
Freshman Taye Owten was the lone Bee to be named to the first team. Senior Sawyer Mackovitch was named an All-American for the third time in his career, earning second-team honors this season. Kathryn Anderson, Eliza Dzurisin, Austyn Goodale, and Savannah Schumacher were the other individuals named to the second team. Sydnee Horstman earned an honorable mention.
St. Ambrose won their first cheer championship in 2023, setting a new record for the highest overall score at nationals.
