Mucha named CCAC Player of the Week

CHICAGO --- Ethan Underwood's (Woodstock, Ga.) no-hitter for Olivet Nazarene University and Jake Mucha's (Homer Glen, Ill.) .500 batting average in St. Ambrose University's perfect week have earned the pair Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week recognition, respectively, for the seven-day period ending April 9. The league office made the announcement on Tuesday morning.

Mucha was a big factor in the Fighting Bees' outscoring their four opponents 37-12 last week. The sophomore outfielder drove in four runs, while scoring nine times himself as part of a 6-for-12 week at the plate. Half of his hits went for extra bases with one double and two triples leading to a .917 slugging percentage.

Mucha opened the week going 3-for-3 with four runs scored and two batted in in a 13-2 decision over Indiana University South Bend last Tuesday. He closed it out with a 2-for-4 effort in a 7-5 decision over Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday. In both contests, he registered one triple among his five hits.

St. Ambrose's 4-0 week put the Fighting Bees at 9-4 in league play and 14-19 overall.
