Season ends in CCAC Tournament

St. Ambrose had its season come to a close with a 4-0 loss at Olivet Nazarene in the first round of the CCAC Tournament Monday afternoon.

The Bees lost all three doubles matches to drop the doubles point. All three matches had identical 6-2 scores. Kaylee Camp and Maggie Sullivan played No. 1 doubles for SAU, Paige Bily and Alison Hanson were the No. 2 team and Kate Jones and Audrey Pender were at No. 3.

Bily, Hanson and Jones each lost in straight sets at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles, respectively, to close out the dual.

St. Ambrose was competitive in the other three matches that went unfinished. Camp dropped the first set but was up 3-2 in the second in her battle at No. 1 singles. Pender was a game away from forcing a third set, up 5-2 in the second, in her match at No. 5. And at No. 6, Sarah Baxter held a 6-3, 3-1 lead when play was halted.

The Bees finished the year with seven dual victories, including two in conference play.
