St. Ambrose opens spring season at WIU Intercollegiate
St. Ambrose officially started its spring season at the Western Illinois University Intercollegiate, played at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., Friday and Saturday.
Facing a challenging course against a primarily NCAA Division I field, SAU competed well.
Amara Lytle led the way. Her opening 82 Friday proved to be the Bees' top round of the tournament. She followed that with an 88 Friday afternoon before closing with an 86 Saturday. Lytle finished with a 256.
Gabrielle Langlois shot rounds of 95-94-90 for a 279. Anna Hurning (102-91-91=287), Katherine Speer (94-100-97=291) and Aleanna Mendoza (101-92-100=293) also competed for St. Ambrose. Caitlin McDonagh (104-100-98=302) played as an individual.
The Bees will compete in the Saint Xavier Battle at the Creek at Morris Country Club Saturday.
